I breastfed both Girl and Boy. I breastfed Girl for a year, and Boy for eighteen months. Breastfeeding Girl Child was an effort that was longer, more stressful, and more fraught with problems than pregnancy and labor combined. I wanted to throw in the towel more than once. I decided to stick it out.

If you don’t stick it out, that’s ok.

I’m here to tell you: try.
I’m also here to tell you: don’t let it get in the way of your experience with your baby.
So, since I now have the benefit of hindsight, I’ll say this:
Breastfeed if you can. Breastfeed for as long as you can/want to. And then?

It’s ok to stop, no matter what anyone tries to tell you, sell you, or dirty look/shame you.

This is Boy Child at two months. He got breast AND bottles.
He’s FINE.
Your child will be, too.
