Now that your children are in their third candy coma since October, a short, small Valentine’s Day post from yours truly.
Valentine’s Day is the day before my birthday. It’s given me a strange advantage to see this “holiday” (if you could see air quotes there, you would) from the standpoint of, “Squee! My birthday is TOMORROW!” Here’s what I’ve learned:
The only “Valentine” you need, for real, is you. Cards, flowers, plush toys, stuffed animals and chocolate aren’t love. Dates and romantic gestures don’t REALLY matter. You matter.
So, if you’re alone today, please remember: You’re not alone. You have you. And you’re the best company you’ll ever have.
