Or your children’s lives?

I’m reposting this from a few months ago…..
“But what DOES matter, is whether or not we can walk up a flight of stairs without getting winded. Whether or not we drive around a parking lot for 15 minutes looking for a spot in the front so we don’t have to walk that far to the door. Whether or not we COULD run for our lives, OR OUR CHILDREN’S LIVES, if we had to.

Start by taking a walk.

And then leave stuff on your plate. You don’t need it ALL. Really. I promise.”
One of the bummers about depression is that sometimes it takes your exercise mojo completely away. Exercise has saved my life more than once, and now that my clouds parted, I’m back at it with full force. I want to live a really long time. I want the food I put in my mouth not to be laden with chemical crap. I want those things for my family.

I want my children to be healthy, active and THIN (yes, thin) their whole lives.

Handing them Twinkies at their will is not going to accomplish that for them. So I will set the example I want them to lead their whole lives. Eat food that humans were intended to eat, and move.

So, I’ve committed to myself and a few bloggers over at shredheads that I will go through a month-long re-commitment ceremony to myself. Because when I’m putting in some time on me, I get that time back in energy, life, and love.

Shred with me. The best is yet to be.
