I’m going to spare you all my snarky observations today, and go all serious on you.
Imagine living in the one of the poorest countries in the world, and suddenly feel the earth move and have the building you are standing in crumble around you.
Can you get out? Can your children get out? Where ARE your children? Your husband? Your parents? Are they ok? Hurt? Alive?
Is there water? Food?
Imagine having to hide from the men roaming the streets with machetes who will loot the last bit of water that you have. Imagine your children having to hide from them without you nearby.
There are fellow human beings in Haiti right now dealing with this very reality.
We are one of the richest countries in the world. We leave water on while we brush our teeth. We leave food on our plates. We take for granted all that we have.
